JCRA, the independent financial risk advisor, today announces the appointment of Rhona Macpherson as Associate Director within its Real Estate division. Reporting to Shripal Shah, Head of Real Estate, Rhona will focus on providing hedging solutions to clients as well as driving new business development.
Rhona has over 20 years’ experience helping a broad range of clients manage financial market risk and joins JCRA from EY where, as part of the Hedging Risk Advisory team, she advised clients on the most effective way to manage interest rate, inflation and foreign exchange risk.
She has an investment banking background and previously held senior roles at UBS and Deutsche Bank. As an Executive Director at UBS, she established a team that hedged market risks associated with structured derivative products and private placements. Rhona also provided strategic guidance to RBS during the FCA’s review of the sale of interest rate hedging products.
Rhona’s announcement follows the appointment of Simon Marshall as a Director in February this year and demonstrates JCRA’s commitment to build out its real estate debt and hedging advisory team.
Commenting on the appointment, Shripal Shah, Head of Real Estate at JCRA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Rhona to JCRA. She has significant experience and expertise across both the investment banking and professional services sectors. Her appointment further strengthens our real estate advisory offering.”
“I am really excited to be joining JCRA given its outstanding track record as an independent financial risk advisor,” added Rhona Macpherson. “I am proud to be joining a market leader in supporting and providing clients with the best hedging solutions for the real estate sector and I am very much looking forward to working with the team.”
JCRA’s Real Estate team advises on new financing and debt restructuring as well as on hedging strategies for interest rate and foreign exchange risk, predominantly. With over 30 years’ experience in the market, the team’s clients include listed real estate companies (including REITs), funds, private investors and operating asset owners.
