Trainee Consultant

Our UK Social Housing team is looking for a Trainee Consultant based in our offices in London, St James’s Square. The successful candidate will contribute to the advice, client relationship management and business development for JCRA’s social infrastructure and higher education clients. The team provides debt advisory services, treasury advice, funding advice and general market/economic analysis to clients.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparing written client reports and analysis across financial markets, economics, social housing
  • Business development support to include preparing and presenting pitch documentation
  • Assisting with raising debt from both the capital and banking markets
  • Derivative valuation work and wider treasury support for these clients
  • Financial modelling and analysis incorporating debt capacity reviews, business plans and financial models for funding requirements.
  • Providing advice on credit ratings and general capital market activity
  • Assisting with administrative requirements and some internal reporting
Our ideal person will have:
  • A relevant degree preferably Maths/Economics/Business/Finance
  • Experience gained in a treasury, debt advisory, corporate finance environment or other professional services firm would be advantageous but not essential and we will consider new graduates
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets and economics
  • First class written and verbal communication skills
  • Some previous experience of interacting with clients

The successful candidate will need to become registered as a CF30-Approved Person with the FCA regulatory regime.  This will occur after the successful completion of the regulatory securities examinations (Company supported and funded) and the completion of JCRA’s own competency review.
