Associate – Project Finance & Infrastructure Team

This role is based in our offices in London, St James’s Square. The successful candidate will join JCRA’s Project Finance & Infrastructure team, providing advice, client relationship management and business development for the team’s clients across EMEA, Australasia and Asia. This team provides financial risk management advisory on all asset classes (Rates, Inflation, FX and commodities).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the team in the execution of interest rate, inflation, commodity and foreign exchange risk management projects (including: risk quantification and analysis; structuring hedging strategies; back-testing and stress-testing strategies; pricing and valuation of derivatives; hedge implementation and execution.
  • Business development support, to include preparing and presenting pitch documentation for the team.
  • Assisting with the team’s administrative requirements where appropriate.
The candidate will have: 
  • Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for numbers, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of derivatives and other financial instruments (in at least one asset class) and financial markets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 3-5 years’ experience gained within either a risk advisory firm, the treasury department of a corporate/financial institution, or investment banking (derivatives sales/trading/structuring/quant).
Attributes Required:
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Good working knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters and other market data sources
  • Quality and results-orientated with very good attention to detail
  • Pro-active team player and ability to liaise effectively with clients
  • Ability to organize and work in a fast paced, time-pressured environment
  • European languages would be an advantage
Qualifications:
  • University educated with a relevant degree (Mathematics, Finance, Economics and Actuarial).
  • The successful candidate will need to become registered as a CF30-Approved Person with the FCA regulatory regime. This will occur after the successful completion of the regulatory securities examinations (supported and funded by JCRA) and the completion of JCRA’s own competency review.
  • Competitive base salary + bonus and benefits including 25 days’ holiday.
