Associate Director - Social Infrastructure

This role is based in our St James’s Square office in London.  The successful candidate will be principally working within JCRA’s Social Housing team to providing debt advisory services, treasury advice, funding advice and general market analysis to clients in the social infrastructure sector: housing associations, social care, higher education. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work on cross-sector mandates within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and coordinating debt advisory services for a portfolio of Housing Association clients
  • Managing debt advisory mandates across all debt classes (bank debt, private placements and other capital market borrowing)
  • Undertake treasury advisory services for clients
  • Business development, notably preparing and presenting pitches and tenders for new and prospective clients
  • Overseeing / preparing financial modelling and analysis (business planning and credit reviews / assessment)
  • Overseeing / producing client deliverables (reports, presentations and briefings)
  • Loan and derivative valuation and restructuring
  • Working with other team members on transactions as required (both within the Social Housing team and other sectors)
  • Maintaining relationships with key intermediaries, lenders and investors and up to date market knowledge
Experience Required:
  • Previous experience gained in either a treasury, social housing, debt advisory, accounting or corporate finance environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to present to senior level executives and client boards through client pitches and mandate execution
  • Managing complex projects or transactions
  • General understanding of financial markets, rating agencies and accounts
  • Knowledge of the primary treasury and debt instruments used across social infrastructure: the risks and benefits and suitability of each
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations preferred, both financial services and housing associations
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills

Qualifications:
  • University educated with a relevant degree

The successful candidate will either already be a FCA Approved Person – CF30 or be required to attain registration as such within three months of commencing the role.  Internal support and external training will be provided to support you in this if required.
