Associate Director – Real Estate

JCRA is an FCA-regulated financial risk management consultancy specialising primarily in the management of interest rate, foreign exchange and inflation risk. We have over 70 staff in London and our presence in mainland Europe and North America is expanding. We are an international business, and from these bases, we service clients across the globe.

This dynamic senior role is part of the UK real estate team that provides financial market risk advisory and debt advisory services to our property clients.

Key Responsibilities
Client Development
  • Take ownership and responsibility for managing a portfolio of mid-sized real estate designated client relationships
  • Engage with clients to identify their risk exposures, structure the solutions and provide advice and explanations on the debt/derivative outcomes
  • Penetrate existing relationships with wider cross selling of other advisory services and build a pipeline of ongoing/retainer business
  • Show strategic thought and anticipate client needs
Business Development
  • Work closely with the Business Development and Marketing teams to build the JCRA brand contributing to events, campaigns and content
  • Research the property market and target clients to identify opportunities
  • Take ownership of driving client portfolio revenues
  • Assist with executing and developing the real estate team’s business plan
  • Attend sector conferences and events to develop a network of contacts and relationships
Work Delivery
  • Lead transactions and be responsible for decision making with limited input from Directors
  • Maintain contact with derivative and lending counter parties
People Development
  • Manage team work flows and delegate effectively to Associates, Consultants, Graduates and Interns and support their training and development
  • Assist with the annual graduate recruitment cycle
Our ideal person

You are an FCA registered graduate (postgraduate qualifications desirable). CFA desirable but not essential with at least five years’ real estate experience in either derivatives or finance. You will be a confident communicator with great interpersonal and analytical skills, with an in depth knowledge of financial markets. You are a strong team player with excellent people skills, management experience and a commitment to excellence.

You enjoy networking and thrive on identifying new opportunities to grow our business – and our clients’ businesses.

Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential for this role and programming skills would be an advantage. You will also be an experienced user of Bloomberg (and pricing of derivatives).  A second European language is preferable.
